Zipper Repair Slider – No-Sew Screw-On for #3 & #5 Zippers 🧵
🧵 Zipper repair, simplified
Broken Zipper Slider? Keep Your Favorite Gear in Use.
A screw-on replacement slider for compatible zippers — no sewing required. Available in Small, Medium, Large, or a convenient 3-Pack.

No Sewing. Just a Screw-On Fit.
The problem: a broken slider can leave a favorite jacket sitting in a drawer.
The fix: open the slider, seat it on a compatible zipper, and tighten the screw by hand. No needle, no thread, no zipper replacement.

Hand-Adjustable Thumb Screw
The problem: a slider that will not stay put is as useless as a broken one.
The fix: loosen and tighten the thumb screw with your fingers to fit the removable slider. A black nylon cord connects the slider body to the pull, and the elongated textured tab gives you a clear place to grip.

3 Sizes + 3-Pack: Find Your Fit
The problem: the wrong slider size will not close the zipper properly.
The fix: check the number on your old slider, or measure the zipper. Choose the matching size — or get all three in the convenient 3-Pack.

| Size | Height | Width | Weight | Fits zipper # |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 24 mm | 9 mm | ~4.2 g | #3 |
| Medium | 25 mm | 10 mm | ~4.4 g | #5, #7, #8 |
| Large | 26 mm | 12 mm | ~4.6 g | #8, #10 |
How to choose your size:
1. Check the old slider number:
- #3 → Small
- #5, #7, #8 → Medium
- #8, #10 → Large
2. No number? Measure the width:
- 3 – 4.5 mm → Small
- 5 – 7.9 mm → Medium
- 8 – 10 mm → Large
*Note: These sizes fit the vast majority of zippers on the market, but not 100% of them. Please measure to be sure.
Check the Installation Direction
The problem: mounting the slider the wrong way round can make it bind.
The fix: the mounting direction depends on the zipper. For the reverse-facing setup, the screw side faces inward and the pull sits on the outside. Match the construction of the zipper you are repairing.
Note: reverse-facing mounting does not establish waterproof performance or compatibility with every concealed zipper.

Keep the Gear You Love in Use
The problem: a broken slider can make a whole jacket or bag feel unusable.
The fix: on a compatible zipper with intact teeth and tape, replacing the slider gives you a practical repair option — without replacing the whole item.

Loosen. Fit. Tighten & Test.

- Loosen Turn the thumb screw to open the removable slider.
- Fit Position the zipper tracks in the slider channels. Placement depends on the zipper construction.
- Tighten & test Tighten by hand, then gently move the slider to check opening and closing. Stop and reassess if it binds.
Installation tip: separating jacket zippers and closed-end bag zippers require different starting positions. Check the zipper construction before fitting the slider.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which size should I choose?
Check the number on your old slider: #3 → Small, #5/#7/#8 → Medium, #8/#10 → Large. If there is no number, measure the inner diameter of the old slider or the closed width of the zipper teeth: 3–4.5mm → Small, 5–7.9mm → Medium, 8–10mm → Large.
What is included in the 3-Pack?
The 3-Pack includes one Small, one Medium, and one Large slider. It is a convenient way to have a spare on hand or to repair different items.
Will it fit every zipper?
No. Compatibility depends on the slider size and the zipper's construction. These sizes fit the vast majority of zippers on the market, but not 100% of them. Please measure to be sure.
Can it repair missing zipper teeth?
No. This is a replacement slider. Missing teeth, damaged teeth, and torn zipper tape require a different repair.
Do I need to sew?
The screw-on slider is designed for installation without sewing. It must still match the zipper you are repairing.
What if the slider does not move smoothly?
Do not force it. Recheck the size, alignment, screw adjustment, and condition of the zipper. An incompatible or damaged zipper may need a different repair.

My jacket zipper slider broke and I really didn't want to pay for a full zipper replacement. This screwed on in about a minute and the zipper closes smoothly again.

Ordered the medium for a #5 zipper on my duffel bag. The fit was right and the screw tightened down without slipping.

Took me a second to figure out which way the slider should face, but once I checked the diagram it was easy. Works fine now.

Good little fix. The pull tab has a nice texture so it's easy to grab even with gloves on.

Worked on the closed-end zipper of my toiletry bag. Just make sure you measure and check your size first.
